About Steven Barrows

Steven Barrows Very new on Fine Art America - just joined in early November of 2013.

Having grown up on the East Coast, always thought of the Grand Canyon as being the at the top of the US National Parks. Have been there twice, and it's a gem - but in 2002 tacked a weekend onto a California business trip to visit Yosemite National Park for the first time - and went resultantly slack-jawed at the beauty of its topography. Have since learned that it's Yosemite that is considered to be the Crown Jewel of the National Parks - and I hope my photographs do justice to that title.

Have since made six more trips to Yosemite - and in 2013 made my first visit during which Yosemite's High country was accessible via Tioga Road being open for the summer season. Hiked the Glen Aulin Trail as far as Tuolumne Falls (about eleven miles roundtrip), and from now on will plan my visits to hopefully find Tioga Road open when I'm there. Also in '13, hiked about the same distance to Stanford Point above Yosemite Valley, and caught a very clear photograph of the Valley from Stanford which includes a rainbow refraction on Bridalveil Fall. As the distance to Stanford Point thins the field of photographers willing or capable of the effort required to get there, I've looked at other photographs from Stanford Point, and I believe my photo holds up quite well to the limited number of others out there shot from it.

As future Yosemite trips transpire, I will certainly post my work from them.

Have resided in Towson Maryland for three decades now - and often do a week or more in Virginia Beach VA during August. This past summer got up early to shoot the 34-foot tall King Neptune sculpture at 31st Street on the Virginia Beach boardwalk, and my portfolio at Fine Art America includes two photos from that session.

I also enjoy shooting the Cherry Blossoms at the Tidal Basin in Washington DC in springtime, and have some photos from there posted in my Portfolio. And the fireworks above the Mall in Washington DC on the Fourth of July are another favorite photo subject, and some shots of them are available as well.

Thank you very much for viewing my profile - and special thanks to those who have ordered my shots!
