Description
The winter of 2010-2011 saw the deepest snowpack accumulation in two-plus decades - with a resultant spring melt that fed massive runoffs. In this scene, water which had only minutes before plunged over Ribbon Fall (the tallest single-drop waterfall in North America) rushes to join up with the Merced River. As Ribbon Creek is ephemeral; it doesn't flow all year - and rarely does it flow as fully as in this scene.
If you possibly might prefer a painted texture, a watercolor-style conversion of this photograph is available in my "Watercolor Conversions of Yosemite Photographs" and "Watercolor Treatments Of Photographs" galleries here at FAA - thank you for viewing!
